This is a great question and I can tell you are really trying to be fair to your system and to yourself. When I read your question, my immediate thought was this: maybe you don’t have to choose one or the other. That is, assuming you and the other part have some communication, I wonder if it would work to tell them, “We need to make a decision. Here are our three choices. I like Choice A. Which choice do you prefer?” If you’re lucky, then they’ll tell you Choice A is their preferred answer, too. Of course, that raises another question: what if they prefer a different choice? I’m not going to go into that here because that wasn’t your question.
My second thought when I read this question was: not everything needs to be a system decision….
