Top Apps to Improve Communication in DID and OSDD Systems
(Summary) System communication looks different for every person with Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID) or Other Specified Dissociative Disorder (OSDD). While some find success with traditional journaling, others benefit from digital tools designed for multiple users. From simple phone notes apps to specialized platforms like Simply Plural and Antar, there are many ways to support communication between parts. Exploring different apps can help you discover the method that works best for your system.
Just as every system is unique, there is no one surefire way of system communication. Today I’m going to share four different apps that you can try to see which gives you the best results. I’ve had clients who had little luck with system communication through journaling or other methods but found success with these options.
The first app is simply a notes app on your phone. Some people find that they don’t have success with pen and paper. Other say that they are worried someone else might find their writings. Using a notes app on your phone can be a solution to those issues.
The second app is Discord. Quite a few clients have found that setting up their own Discord server allows for system members to have their own ability to interact with the system.
The next app is called Simply Plural. As the name indicates, it is designed for systems to communicate with each other.
And, finally, the app Antar is designed for members of systems to be able to communicate with each other.
I’ve had clients have good success with all four options. I hope one of these works well for you, too! If you know of an option I haven’t mentioned, would you please drop a comment about it? I’d be really grateful and so would others who would learn about it from you. Thank you!
