What do I do if a blind alter wants to front? How do I keep her safe, will she even be blind?

[Redacted] is completely blind in our inner world, and seems to negatively effect our eyesight when she passively influences. She shows interest in fronting, but we don’t know the first thing about ensuring a blind alter’s safety, or if she will be blind at all!

I love that your concern is ensuring your blind alter’s safety. Without being able to ask you followup questions, here’s where my mind goes:

I would encourage you to plan the first fronting event so you can do it under controlled conditions.

  • Is there a room that you would be able to navigate through reasonably well if you closed your eyes? I would suggest using that room.
  • I would ask your alter if she would like you to give her a tour of that room before she fronts. For instance, you could stand at the doorway and tell her, “when I take 6 steps to the right, I’m at the head of our bed. If I go to the foot of our bed, there is a window to our right.” And so on….
