System communication does not always happen through words. In some cases, you might notice images. In others, you might feel sensations somewhere in your body. Sometimes you may simply “know” something or have a strong sense that something is being communicated.

All of these can be valid forms of system communication. Over time, some systems find that these signals become easier to recognize or may shift toward clearer internal dialogue.

This page is part of the How Can I Improve Communication in a Dissociative System? section of the CommuniDID site, which explains how internal communication develops and how parts gradually learn to cooperate, repair conflict, and build trust.
